Mother And Her Baby Miraculously Survived Plane Crash

An 18-year-old mother and her baby have been found alive five days after their plane crashed in the jungle of western Colombia.

Nelly Murillo and her son Yudier Moreno were found alive near the site where the plane crashed. Credits: BBC BBC reports that Nelly Murillo and her son Yudier Moreno, not yet one year old, were found near the site where the plane crashed in thick brush. The aircraft crash happened on June 20, Sunday, while flying from Quibdo, the capital of Choco, to the town of Nuqui on the Pacific coast. The cause of the accident is not yet known.

Colonel Hector Carrascal, commander of the Colombian Air Force in Antioquia department, described the survival of the mother and her child as miracle.
“It is a very wild area and it was a catastrophic accident. His mother’s spirit must have given him strength to survive.
“The lady has wounds and minor burns and apparently the child is unharmed,” he said.
Murillo and her child were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

During the search operation, the rescue team found the dead body of Captain Carlos Mario Ceballos, the plane’s pilot. They also discovered the doors of the plane ajar and suspected that survivors may have clambered out.
For several days the team had been scouring the jungles, before they found the mother and child.
